Engaging Aboriginal Australians in the Private Sector Research
Diversity Council Australia’s research project titled
Engaging Aboriginal Australians in the Private Sector: A Consultative Report into Aboriginal Employment Strategies and Initiatives was released on 7 August 2009.
This landmark research, sponsored by National Australia Bank (NAB), reveals the motivations and aspirations of Aboriginal Australians and provides valuable information to help build sustainable employment strategies for the future. DCA acknowledges the generous financial support of NAB towards this research. For a copy of the report, please click

One of the high level recommendations of the report (see recommendation 4, page 37) is that employers commit to sharing outcomes, both positive and negative, of Indigenous employment strategies and initiatives with other employers and sectors to generate a body of leading practice. DCA is establishing a network of DCA member practitioners working in corporate Indigenous employment. This network will work cooperatively with networks supported by the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations. DCA members will be updated on meeting times, networking opportunities and research.
DCA's infrastructure and capacity to produce this high level Australian business diversity research is enabled by its members, Australia's leaders in business diversity. DCA is resourced solely by member subscriptions, partnership projects and signature advisory services. For information about becoming a member of DCA, please click
