2004 Awards
Australian Federal Police won the Gold Award for the most outstanding organisation in the 2004 ACCI/BCA National Work and Family Awards, Employment and Workplace Relations Minister Kevin Andrews announced. The award was received for overall outstanding achievement in addressing the work/life needs of its employees.
In giving the award, the judges said the Australian Federal Police was "an outstanding family friendly organisation that has worked extremely hard, in a very challenging environment and a 24/7 operation, to ensure its workforce can enjoy a world/life balance."
The winners of all nine categories were announced at a dinner in Sydney on 5 May 2004. A record number of more than 70 applications were received for the awards which recognise organisations with practical and innovative work and family policies.
