DCA Privacy Statement

Diversity Council Australia Ltd (DCA) supports and endorses the state and national privacy regimes.

DCA only collects personal information from users and Members with their prior knowledge and consent. Users and Members can access the DCA website home page and browse this site without disclosing personal information.

DCA will only use personal information provided by users and Members for the purposes for which it was collected. DCA will not disclose personal information to a third party. DCA will ensure that the personal information of users and Members will not be disclosed to any other institutions or authorities except if required to by law other regulation.

When visiting this Internet site, the DCA server logs the following user information that is provided by the user’s browser for statistical purposes only:

  • The type of browser and operating system that the user is using;
  • The user’s top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, etc.);
  • The address of the referring site (for example, the previous site the user visited); and
  • The user’s server’s IP address (a number that is unique to the machine through which the user is connected to the Internet: usually one of the user’s service provider’s machines).

In addition, the DCA server logs the following information:

  • The date and time of the user’s visit; and
  • The address of the pages accessed and the documents downloaded.

All of this information is used only for statistical analysis or systems administration purposes. No attempt will be made to identify users or their browsing activities, except in the unlikely event of an investigation where a law enforcement agency may exercise a warrant.

If individuals are submitting personal details, credit card numbers or other information over the internet which they wish to remain private, please note that, while all attempts are made to secure information transmitted to this site, there is a possibility that information they submit could be observed by a third party while in transit.

DCA will only record an individuals email address if they send us a message. It will only be used for the purposes for which the individual provides it, and will not be added to a mailing list unless the individual requests that this is done. DCA will not disclose it without the individual’s consent.

DCA has implemented technology and security policies, rules and measures to protect the personal information that is under its control from: unauthorised access, improper use, alteration, unlawful or accidental destruction and accidental loss. DCA will remove personal information from its systems where it is no longer required (except where archiving is required).
