OriginsInfo is a niche specialist provider of market segmentation information about an organisation’s engagement with multicultural Australia. Through in-sourced licensing and out-sourced services, OriginsInfo works with organisations in the private and public sectors to analyse the personal and family names on their databases. This analysis provides detailed insight into the cultural composition of customers, employees and prospects, highlighting under- or over-representation among Australia’s diverse cultures. Drawing on a globally sourced name database created from more than 1.2 billion individuals and summarised to more than 2.5 million different surnames and 900,000 personal names, the Origins solution offers greater coverage, consistency and efficiency than information from surveys and other methods of gathering information.

Knowing the cultural dimensions of customers helps organisations appreciate their needs, motivations and behaviours, enabling them to develop ways to optimise customer experience and outcomes. Origins also makes it possible to measure and monitor change over time and create business, marketing and communication objectives. Additionally, through the Origins Web Mapping capability, clients can visualise the location and distribution of key market segments across Australia.

As one of the most culturally diverse countries in the world, leading organisations in Australia recognise the opportunity to tune their business strategies and communications to account for cultural differences. OriginsInfo is used by hundreds of public and private organisations worldwide.  Some of its Australian clients include ANZ, American Express, HSBC Bank, the AFL, the Victorian Department of Health and Toyota. OriginsInfo is currently working alongside DCA on a project to determine the cultural composition of senior executives within ASX 200 companies. For more information, visit:
