Is it time to move on from gender equality?

Given the level of focus on gender equality in Australian workplaces over several decades, one would be forgiven for thinking that the issue is as good as solved. Or is it? That’s what we tackle at this year’s Debate as we hash out the question – is it time to move on from gender equality?

Workplaces and the wider world have already made such great strides on gender equality, so is it time to focus on other aspects of diversity that have been neglected?

Or does the #MeToo movement, persistent gender stereotypes, the gender pay gap, and the continued under-representation of women in leadership prove that there’s much more to be done?

What’s more, when we talk about gender equality, how are we ensuring it means equality for people of ALL genders?
