Canberra Event - Engaging men on gender equality
In June DCA launched a new resource for Australian business called, Men Make a Difference: Engaging Men on Gender Equality. DCA Chair David Morrison AO & CEO Lisa Annese will be in Canberra in August to update members on this report and lead discussion on how men, as part of the problem of gender inequality, must be part of the solution.
‘Engaging men’ is an idea that has gained a lot of popularity in recent years. In fact, our Annual Diversity Debate in 2016 explored whether 'engaging men' is the game changer for gender equality. While this topic has been researched extensively, much of the discussion and action has overlooked findings about what works and what doesn’t when it comes to engaging men on gender equality.
DCA worked with Dr Graeme Russell and Dr Michael Flood, two of Australia’s leading researchers in D&I, to produce this report, proudly sponsored by Programmed.
The work brings together evidence-based perspectives to recommend how organisations can adopt a more effective approach to engaging men to achieve gender equality at work.
Challenge: We encourage DCA members attending to bring along an additional male colleague.
Accessibility: The venue is wheelchair accessible. Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org if further assistance is needed.
