DCA is delighted to offer our Perth based organisations the opportunity to participate in our new Out at Work Knowledge Program which is designed to assist workplaces to become more inclusive of LGBTIQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and other terms that people identify with) employees.

Perth Knowledge Program - #Out At Work From Prejudice to PrideLGBTIQ+ inclusion is an important component of diversity and inclusion.

DCA's study, undertaken in 2018 with RMIT University, involving conversations we had with over 1600 LGBTIQ+ workers about their experiences, revealed how important it is for Australian organisations to continue to build on that work.

This interactive evidence-based workshop explores what it means to be out at work, and what organisations can do to make everyone feel included. This work is a valuable contribution to the evidence on how important genuine inclusion is for LGBTIQ+ people to stay safe, feel welcome and to contribute their best at work.

Designed for business leaders and managers as well as human resources experts, this program will also benefit all staff and be a great resource for internal LGBTIQ+ networks or pride groups.

Learning Objectives/Outcomes 

  • Discuss the positives and negatives of being Out At Work.
  • Explore a snapshot of LGBTIQ+ employees in Australia.
  • Identify recurring themes.
  • Research 6 Locks and Keys to creating cultures that enable being Out At Work.

Non-DCA members: $495/person (including special workbook) 

Tea and coffee will be provided.

These sessions are normally conducted in-house for around 15 employees of an organisation. However, for this special Brisbane event, we are opening it up to organisations who may only want to send one or two staff.
