Australia's Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Kate Jenkins, recently released her much anticipated examination of sex-based and sexual harassment at work.

The report, Respect@Work, recommends a new and more holistic approach that looks beyond policies, training and complaint handling procedures to improve workplace prevention and responses. In particular, the report recommends a new focus on prevention, including leadership, culture and knowledge, and risk assessment and transparency.

At this DCA webinar, Kate Jenkins, joined by DCA's CEO Lisa Annese, discussed the report and what it means for workplaces, including:

  1. The findings of the National Inquiry into Sexual Harassment in Australian Workplaces
  2. Recommendations for a new approach to addressing sexual harassment in Australian workplaces through:
  • Data and research
  • Primary prevention
  • The legal and regulatory framework
  • Workplace prevention and response
  • Support, advice and advocacy

Deborah Yates, National Managing Partner, People Performance & Culture from KPMG Australia welcomed the audience and profiled what her organisation is doing to encourage respect at work.
