Gender Equality Network: WGEA's Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation

15 Feb 2017

DCA’s first meeting of the Gender Equality Network for 2017 will focus on the Workplace Gender Equality Agency's (WGEA) Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation: what WGEA is looking for in candidates and how some of our member organisations have achieved it.

The WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality citation commenced in 2014 and is a leading practice recognition program that aims to encourage, recognise and promote active commitment to achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces.

Vanessa Paterson, Advice and Reporting Executive Manager, WGEA will review elements of the application process including:

  • Eligibility, criteria and guidelines,
  • Application and format,
  • Standards that need to be reached,
  • Recognition and business case for applying for a citation,
  • Top trends among this year's recipients.

Representatives from GHD and Mirvac will share various strategies they have employed to elevate gender equality to a level worthy of the citation and review the extent to which this citation has helped differentiate their organisation and attract and retain the best possible talent.

The Gender Equality Network, proudly sponsored by Clayton Utz, is open exclusively to DCA members and is designed to explore leading practice on gender equality and to assist members in their preparations to meet reporting requirements on gender. Previously known as DCA’s Gender Reporting Network, this series has been renamed in 2017 to reflect the evolving nature of this content.

The rest of this content is restricted to DCA members.
