Diversity Council Australia, RMIT University and the Star Observer, along with sponsors Deloitte and QBE, are conducting an Australian study on what motivates Australian LGBTIQ+ workers to come out at work.

We need your help to recruit respondents so that this research can have the impact it deserves.

Why Conduct this Research?

Research suggests that almost 40 percent of LGBTQ+ Australian workers don’t share their LGBTQ+ identity at work. Even among Australia’s leading employers the figures still don’t look good.

We want to understand why this is the case. And what leading organisations do to make their workplace a safe and comfortable place for LGBTIQ+ workers to be themselves.

Our Invitation

We need your support to help DCA to distribute this survey to your staff members and other interested people in your networks.

The survey can be found at: https://rmit.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_diCEG0JxMGevhGd or http://bit.ly/DCA_LGBTIQ_Survey

It will be open from 28 February to 24 March 2018.

Spread the Word

Can you share this on your social media platforms including workplace Yammer, through employee resource groups, professional associations, Pride groups, and with anyone else you can think of?  Download our kit of images and suggested social posts here.

How Will Survey Responses Be Used?

Responses to the survey will be aggregated to develop evidence-based practical guidance for organisations on how they can create safe workplace environments in which LGBTIQ+ people feel comfortable being who they are at work.

Our Confidentiality Commitment

Any information participants provide will be kept strictly confidential. Survey participant responses will be completely anonymous. No names are required. Responses from completed surveys cannot be linked to any particular respondent. Any quotes used in our research will be anonymous.

For more information on the survey, please contact Cathy Brown, DCA Research and Policy Manager, [email protected].
