In times of economic uncertainty, organisations may look to redeploying, restructuring and/or downsizing their workforce, whether temporarily or permanently. It is important to consider how public-health and economic crises can magnify existing inequalities in the workplace and society.
Recent research from The Wellbeing Lab and Australian Human Resource Institute showed that 82 per cent of workers were anxious about coronavirus, and 91 per cent are anxious about the economic downturn.
At times of uncertainty, employees may be also be feeling distress and concern - this can be exacerbated by isolation.
