During Neurodiversity Celebration Week, Amaze and Diversity Council Australia (DCA) launched Neurodiversity Data at Work — a new practical guide designed to support more inclusive workplaces.
This landmark resource was developed through a 12-month collaboration and was co-presented by Farhana Laffernis (she/her), Research Manager at DCA and Dr Angela Neyland (she/her), Research Lead at Amaze. It provides organisations with practical guidance on how to measure and report on voluntary neurodiversity representation data in ways that are respectful, safe, and accurate.
Following the presentation, Dr Rose D’Almada‑Remedios (she/her), Head of Research, facilitated a rich panel discussion with Alex Lazarus-Priestley (she/her), Chief Change Officer at Amaze, Gerard Atkinson (he/him), Managing Director at Iris Ethics and Farhana Laffernis (she/her), Research Manager at DCA. The conversation explored why neurodiversity data matters and how it can inform actions to build more neuroinclusive workplaces.
Key topics for this event included:
- why organisations should collect workforce neurodiversity data
- guiding principles for respectful, inclusive and safe data collection that prioritise voluntary participation, privacy and informed choice
- practical questions organisations can use to collect workforce neurodiversity data
The launch event was hosted at the Telstra CIC in Melbourne and livestreamed.
