AdvantAge Employee Network
CommBank’s age and life stage employee network – called AdvantAge – is one of 6 employee networks in CommBank focused on D&I.
AdvantAge was founded in 2014, initially focusing on generational diversity. Around 2017 it evolved to focus on ‘age and life stage’ given generational stereotypes are not helpful and recognising that in modern society, life stages and generations are not as synonymous as perhaps they once were.
Life Events not Always Linked to Age
More recently, AdvantAge has also started focusing on ‘Life events’ which can happen at any age or life stage and result in an employee experiencing biases or marginalisation from their colleagues.
The Network has a formal SteerCo that meets monthly, supported by 2 working groups and an advocacy network of Champions. The AdvantAge Network has strong executive sponsorship from our Group CRO and the Group Exec, Institutional Banking & Markets.
Each year, AdvantAge runs 1-2 internal employee events focusing on employee stories and panel discussions which are generally well attended.
