The Minderoo For-Purpose Fellowship
The Minderoo For-Purpose Fellowship offers a paid pathway into Australia’s for-purpose sector.
The fellowship is a paid, full-time program running from 8 February 2027 to 15 December 2028.
Across the program, Fellows will have the opportunity to:
- Experience different parts of the sector through placements across different organisations.
- Learn by doing and collaborating with experienced people.
- Contribute to real projects while developing practical skills.
- Receive mentoring, professional development and structured learning.

Mawal Leadership Program
Raise the ceiling for Indigenous talent in your organisation or supply chain
Applications are now open for the 2027 scholarship cohort of the Mawal Leadership Program, a 12-month guided program for Indigenous professionals and entrepreneurs, led by Brad Welsh, the first Aboriginal CEO and Managing Director of an ASX-listed minerals company.
More than 20 of Australia’s leading companies supported the inaugural cohort in 2026, including ASX, BHP, Coles, Origin, Ampol, Amazon, Soul Patts, Jarden, Rio Tinto, AMP, Cromwell Property Group and Smartgroup in a clear statement of corporate Australia’s commitment to building the nation’s next generation of Indigenous business leaders.
Companies can become involved in the 2027 cohort now through:
- Developing your own people: enrol your leaders, emerging leaders and those with leadership aspirations in a national cohort of Indigenous scholars. Nominate employees directly, or have Mawal run an EOI for you, with no upfront commitment to funding places. An open EOI often surfaces people who aren’t yet on a top talent list or leadership pathway.
- Sponsoring scholarships, awarded on merit and aligned to impact drivers. Scholarships can also support Indigenous business owners and leaders in your supply chain, building their commercial capability as part of your supplier development commitments.
- Providing mentors or hosting a learning event for scholars.
Through the program, Indigenous professionals and entrepreneurs gain:
- Commercial skills that move careers and grow businesses, and the language of capital and risk, grounded in 65,000 years of documented Indigenous leadership, trade and economic management.
- Mentors, sponsors and senior leaders who expand their networks and exposure to commercial decision-making.
- Raise the Ceiling, Mawal’s exclusive podcast where Brad speaks with some of Australia’s most influential business leaders on everything from career moves to raising capital.
- A community of Mawal leaders, learning and exposure events and a personal AI coach for 12 months after program completion.
