In this Case Study Conversation, City of Sydney shared insights on the successes of their D&I journey and the role diversity data has played in achieving change.
City of Sydney was one of many organisations who participated in DCA’s Inclusive Employer Index, an in-depth organisation-wide survey on inclusion and diversity metrics. The organisation’s Index results surpassed the national benchmark, distinguishing them as one of DCA’s 2023-2024 Inclusive Employers.
DCA’s CEO, Catherine Hunter (she/her), facilitated the discussion with City of Sydney staff, Chris Youness (he/him), People and Culture Leader, and Lindsey Bolivar (she/her), Manager of Employee and Organisational Success.
Attendees gained valuable insights into:
how City of Sydney implemented policies and programs to advance gender equity, before moving onto other areas
why D&I efforts need to be embedded into organisation’s core systems to achieve lasting change
their focus on the work experiences and career opportunities of women from culturally diverse backgrounds, women with a disability and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women.
