Beware of myth-busting: how to maximise impact and address misinformation
June 30 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm AEST
Free - $85.00
Myth-busting is often used in D&I practice as a way to educate and deliver concise and key messaging, but is this the best way to maximise impact and address misinformation?
Join DCA CEO Catherine Hunter in conversation at this event, to explore the risks of myth-busting, why it often doesn’t work and how D&I change agents and practitioners can achieve more positive impact without reinforcing divisive misinformation about D&I. We will take a diversity lens on myth-busting and focus on actions that employers can take to respond to diversity related misinformation.
Our guest presenter, Gemma Pitcher (she/her) is an Associate at Common Cause Australia. She is an accomplished communications and messaging consultant and will share research insights and strategies to help navigate the pitfalls of myth-busting.
Following Gemma’s presentation she will be joined by guest contributors:
-
Eryn Newman (she/her), Associate Director Education (Psychology), Associate Professor in Psychology at ANU
-
Tash Freeburn (she/her), Senior Advisor, The Behavioural Insights Team
