To celebrate Inclusion at Work Week, Diversity Council Australia (DCA) has announced its 2024-2025 Inclusive Employers and welcomes Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of Australia, as its new Patron.
This year over 60 organisations were recognised as Inclusive Employers across the nation, highlighting their commitment to creating diverse and inclusive workplaces. Offered in partnership with Diversity Atlas, the Inclusive Employer Index enables organisations to comprehensively assess and monitor the state of diversity and inclusion in their workforce.
To make the list, workplaces must demonstrate their commitment to diversity and inclusion by having employees complete an in-depth survey to map the state of inclusion in their organisation. They must also achieve results that exceed national benchmarks on a series of key measures.
“DCA congratulates this year’s Inclusive Employers for showing their commitment to fostering inclusive workplaces where employees in all their diversity can thrive,” said DCA CEO Lisa Annese.
“DCA’s Inclusive Employer Index is an evidence-based process that reveals the state of inclusion and diversity across participating organisations. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the companies that are driving real change and inspiring others to follow their lead.”
Governor-General announced as DCA Patron
DCA is excited to announce that Her Excellency the Honourable Ms Sam Mostyn AC, Governor-General of Australia, will serve as Patron of Diversity Council Australia. Previously serving as Deputy Chair of DCA, Ms Sam Mostyn AC has been a long-standing advocate for diversity and inclusion.
“I am honoured to take on the role of Patron of Diversity Council Australia,” the Governor-General said.
“Throughout my career, I have seen the transformative power of inclusive workplaces, and I look forward to serving as Patron of DCA. I spoke in my swearing-in as Governor-General of the role care plays in our community – the work of DCA goes directly to creating environments where everyone feels valued and respected.”
“Sam Mostyn’s swearing-in as Governor-General was a moment of great pride for us at DCA, given her longstanding leadership in championing gender equality and inclusion,” said DCA CEO Lisa Annese.
“She has long been an advocate for unity, collaboration, and the amplification of diverse voices – values that are at the heart of everything we do at DCA.”
DCA’s Board Chair, Sunita Gloster AM, added: “The patronage of The Governor General underscores the critical role diversity and inclusion play in shaping an empathetic, just, cohesive and resilient society. We look forward to working with our Patron over the course of her term as we work across all sectors to embrace the strength that lies in our diversity.”

The week is designed to inspire employers, employees, and communities to take action towards creating inclusive spaces where everyone can thrive.
