What is a D&I Council?
A D&I Council serves as an advisory board to an organisation, and is made up of employees and/or external experts who lead, advocate for, coordinate, inform, and/or monitor the organisation’s diversity and inclusion (‘D&I’) strategy.
D&I Councils can be internal (e.g headed by a CEO and made up of senior executives and staff at all levels of the organisation) or external (e.g. made up of community partners, businesses, government, academia or the diversity field so that they can offer a broader perspective, best practices and accountability for diversity).
