Age, Assumptions and Access at Work
June 30 @ 12:30 pm - 1:45 pm AEST
FreeAge continues to shape working lives, influencing who is hired, supported, and valued. Assumptions about being “too early” or “past prime” affect career opportunities and participation over time.
A new report to be released by DCA and the Australian Human Rights Commission, based on the 2025–2026 Inclusion@Work Index, highlights how age impacts workplace inclusion. Findings from the report explore how age:
-
shapes discrimination and harassment experiences
-
impacts access to career development opportunities
-
intersects with other diversity dimensions.
Join DCA’s CEO Catherine Hunter (she/her) and the Age Discrimination Commissioner, Robert Fitzgerald AM (he/him), for the launch of the report delivered by Dr Rose D’Almada-Remedios (she/her), DCA’s Head of Research.
Our guest panel will include:
-
Commissioner Robert Fitzgerald AM (he/him), Australian Human Rights Commission
-
Emma Vibert (she/her), National Partnership Manager at Aware Super
-
Heidi La Paglia (she/her), Expert Advisor for the Australian Human Rights Commission’s Equality at Work project.
Who should attend: Chief People Officers and HR Directors; D&I and HR managers and practitioners, Employee Resource Groups and D&I Champions; people leaders; and any colleagues/team members in your organisation wanting to build their D&I knowledge.
