Case Study Conversation: First Nations Inclusion at Bunnings

July 16 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm AEST

Free

Many Australian organisations are on a reconciliation journey to bring about real, positive improvements for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.

At DCA’s July Case Study Conversation, we will hear how Bunnings implemented a program aimed at sustainable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employment opportunities and leadership pathways, alongside their other key priorities for First Nations community engagement.

Join Dr Virginia Mapedzahama (she/her), Member Education Director, DCA, in conversation with Michelle Matthews (she/her), Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs Manager and Jess Otter (she/her), Coordinator – In the Home, Bunnings Group. They will share key learnings on how Bunnings has evolved from empathy-based acknowledgment to delivering real, effective solutions and meaningful action through:

  • implementing sustainable employment programs
  • supporting and encouraging First Nations staff to seek leadership opportunities
  • fostering buy-in and support from business leaders
  • centring Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people in the development process.
