Age continues to shape working lives, influencing who is hired, supported, and valued. Assumptions about being “too early” or “past prime” affect career opportunities and participation over time.
At this event, Dr Rose D’Almada-Remedios (she/her), DCA’s Head of Research, shared findings from a new DCA and Australian Human Rights Commission report, based on the 2025–2026 Inclusion@Work Index, highlights how age impacts workplace inclusion.
Findings from the report explore how age:
- shapes discrimination and harassment experiences
- impacts access to career development opportunities
- intersects with other diversity dimensions.
DCA’s Board Director, Ian Goshko (he/him) then facilitated a panel discussion with guest speakers:
- Commissioner Robert Fitzgerald AM (he/him), Australian Human Rights Commission
- Emma Vibert (she/her), National Partnership Manager at Aware Super
- Heidi La Paglia (she/her), Expert Advisor for the Australian Human Rights Commission’s Equality at Work project.
