Case Study Conversation: Successful Employee Resource Groups

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) are voluntary, employee-led groups that help organisations foster diverse and inclusive workplaces. Workplaces often have a number of different ERGs, each focusing on specific aspects of diversity. But how can these groups work together to make their collective efforts stronger and get the best results? And how can they share ideas and plans, especially amidst increasingly diverse and intersectional employee identities?

This Case Study Conversation, brings about coversation with Kim-Don Pham (she/her), Employee Resource Group (ERG) lead along with Alycia Hatt (she/her), Ability Australia ERG Co-Chair at HSBC Bank Australia. We explore how they have adopted a new approach to unite their five thriving and engaged ERG networks.

This event explores:
  • how HSBC Bank Australia identified the business need for united ERGs
  • how their approach to ERGs changed
  • what consultation they undertook with employees to get buy-in
  • how they communicated the change with employees
  • how they evaluate the success of their ERG initiative.
