Marnie Round, Acting General Manager – Policy, Research & Strategic Programs, Reconciliation Australia provided an update to the findings of the most recent Australian Reconciliation Barometer, a biennial national research survey that identifies the attitudes and perceptions Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians hold about each other and about key issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, while mapping Australia’s progress towards the five dimensions of reconciliation. We also considered the state of reconciliation in Australia in a pre- and post-referendum environment.
Kate Russell, DCA’s Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander External Advisory Panel Chair and DCA Board Director, discussed with our expert panel the value of true Reconciliation and what corporate organisations can do to further support reconciliation, especially in the lead up to the Referendum on the Voice to Parliament.
Our guest panel included:
- Rob Russell, National Director, Reconciliation, Life Without Barriers,
- Louise Ellis, Inclusion and Talent Manager, ANZ,
- Preston Peachey, Senior Community Engagement Coordinator, Indigenous Leadership & Engagement, City of Sydney, and
- Kate Delaney, Senior Manager RAP Program, Reconciliation Australia.
