Rising backlash and resistance to gender equality (livestreamed)
December 11 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm AEDT
FreePlan International this year released its first Gender Compass report that found a majority of the Australian population think we’ve achieved gender equality. What’s more, they found dangerous gaps in knowledge amongst pockets of the community about the inequalities that women and girls face everyday.
Join DCA CEO Lisa Annese (she/her) at our final event for 2024 at DCA’s General Equality Network sponsored by KPMG Australia, to learn more about Plan International Australia’s Gender Compass, as research advisor, Dr Rebecca Huntley (she/her), shares the analysis and explains how we can use this information to change the way we engage in conversations about gender equality to tackle backlash and resistance.
Following Rebecca’s presentation, our guest panel will unpack what it means for efforts to promote gender equality in the workplace and beyond, and what is required for more targeted and effective actions.
The guest panel includes:
– Dorothy Hisgrove (she/her), National Managing Partner for People & Inclusion, KPMG Australia
– Hunter Johnson (he/him), CEO, The Man Cave
– Mary Wooldridge (she/her), CEO, Workplace Gender Equality Agency
– Molina Asthana (she/her), National President of the Asian Australian Lawyers Association
Live captions can be accessed on your smart device during the event.
If you need an Auslan interpreter, let us know 10 working days before the event and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
