Now is the time to commit to creating spaces where everyone feels valued and included, whether you’re just starting your diversity and inclusion (D&I) work, or looking to deepen your impact. Many DCA members are new to D&I or to implementing D&I in their organisation. We often hear it can be hard to know where to start. The ‘Getting started on D&I‘ guide is designed for people who lead, implement, or support D&I work in their organisation.
This event explored DCA’s ‘Getting started on D&I’, designed to support those leading, implemnting or championing D&I wor. The session covered:
- getting the basics right
- identifying piority areas and design and implement initiatives that address them
- finding DCA resources to support your work and help you make the most of your membership.
The discussion also highlighted the five key areas for getting started on D&I action – the ‘5 Ps of D&I’:
- Preparation
- People
- Policy
- Priorities
- Practice
