How to build an inclusive team and be an inclusive team member
We all contribute to creating an inclusive or exclusive team every day. This Inclusive Teams at Work Toolkit provides practical steps and actions for all employees to create an inclusive team for everyone. At DCA, we identified 8 levers for Inclusive Teams at Work.
Inclusive Teams benefit employees and organisations
Employees in inclusive teams are more likely to report:
- being very satisfied – employees in inclusive teams are 8 times more likely to be very satisfied with their job compared to employees in non-inclusive teams
- feeling positive about work – employees in inclusive teams are 6 times more likely to feel work has a positive impact on their mental health.
Employees in inclusive teams are more likely to report their team:
- innovates – employees in inclusive teams are 10 times more likely to be innovative than workers in a non-inclusive team
- works effectively together – employees in inclusive teams are 8 times more likely to work effectively together.

This resource is aimed at all employees, whatever position, industry and level of diversity and inclusion literacy. All employees from member organisations can access DCA resources.
