Combatting tech-facilitated sexual harassment at work
October 22 @ 1:00 pm - 2:15 pm AEDT
Free
A recent ANROWS report on Workplace Technology-Facilitated Sexual Harassment (WTFSH) found that one in seven Australian adults surveyed admitted to engaging in this form of harassment at work.
With new technologies, sexual harassment can now happen in different ways in the workplace. This raises a critical question: how can Australian employers prevent this and be supported to respond effectively to the potential harms?
Join DCA this October, during National Safe Work Month in Australia, for our Gender Equality Insight webinar sponsored by KPMG. We will spotlight the work of the eSafety Gender and Tech team and host a special guest panel, to examine responses to the ANROWS report findings and explore:
-
how Australian employers can take proactive measures to prevent WTFSH
-
the importance of gender-competent leadership in the workplace.
Featuring:
-
Carolyn Wilkes (she/her), Manager of the Gender and Tech team in eSafety’s Education, Prevention and Communities Branch
-
En Wong (they/them), and I am the Knowledge Translation Manager at Rainbow Health Australia, Australian Research Centre in Sex Health and Society, La Trobe University
-
Dr Giang Tan (she/her), Research, Advocacy and Policy team at Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health
-
Zana Bytheway (she/her), Executive Director at JobWatch
Who should attend: DCA Member D&I practitioners, HR, Senior business leaders, line managers and all employees.
Objective: to provide practical steps that Australian employers and employees can take to recognise and combat technology-facilitated sexual harassment more effectively.
