In the lead up to the International Family Equality Day (IFED), our Diversity Leadership Program event investigated how to make workplaces more inclusive of different types of families and work.
Cathy Brown, DCAs Communications & Advocacy Director and rainbow parent, discussed the importance of celebrating IFED and what workplaces can do to be more inclusive of LGBTQ+ families and work.
We also heard from other organisations who are at the coal face of helping workplaces to better support all types of families.
Stephen Barrow-Yu, DCA Board member and Assistant Secretary, People, Performance and Culture at the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, moderated the event and the guest panel included:
- Emma Walsh, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Parents at Work,
- Ashley Scott, Executive Officer, Rainbow Families,
- Jenny Davidson, CEO of the Council of Single Mothers and their Children and
- Danielle Moussa, Head of Specialised Distribution at HSBC Bank Australia.
