The final report of the Disability Royal Commission made a series of recommendations on how to increase the pathways and opportunities for people with disability in the workforce.

In DCA’s D&I Insights event, we delved into the imperative need for change and how employers can do more to provide people with disability the opportunity to work, earn a living and participate as an economic citizen alongside people without disability.

Manisha Amin, CEO of the Centre for Inclusive Design and DCA Board Member, facilitated the event as the MC of the event. Our keynote speaker, Christina Ryan, CEO and Founder of the Disability Leadership Institute, provided invaluable insights drawn from her extensive leadership experience spanning over two decades in the Australian disability community. Christina unpacked the Royal Commission’s recommendations for inclusive employment.

Our expert guest panel shared their lived experiences and expertise on how employers can play a key role in making change:

  • Christina Ryan, CEO and Founder of the Disability Leadership Institute
  • Darren Fittler, lead partner in Gilbert + Tobin’s Charities + Social Sector group
  • Amber O’Shea, Head of Strategy, Australian Disability Network
