DCA CEO Lisa Annese and our special guest speaker Terese Edwards, CEO of Single Mother Families Australia Inc and member of the Women’s Economic Equality Taskforce, discussed the findings of their report on this inequality and the 10-year plan to unleash the full capacity and contribution of women to the Australian economy, which informed the Australian Government’s new Working for Women: A Strategy for Gender Equality.
A guest panel of practitioners joined Terese to examine how employers could contribute to making change in areas such as:
- Better valuing of care work
- Encouraging more equal sharing of caring responsibilities
- Creating more secure, flexible, and equitable work
- Closing the gender pay gap
- Addressing community attitudes and bias that prevent women’s full economic participation across a lifetime.
Our panel included:
- Lainie Cassidy (she/her), Director People & Inclusion, KPMG Australia
- Kaivalya Prasad (she/her), National Manager Workforce & People Data, Calvary Care
- Krystle Fishwick (she/her), Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Manager, Toyota Finance Australia
