Case Study Conversation: Future Group’s cultural leave policy
February 16, 2026 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm AEDT
Future Group, the Australian ethical super fund, offers a progressive Cultural Leave Policy. The policy provides First Nations and culturally diverse employees with paid leave for significant cultural or faith events, as well as flexible “Public Holiday Swapping” that allows employees to honour personal dates instead of standard public holidays. This approach promotes inclusion by letting employees celebrate what matters most to them.
The policy is a core part of Future Group’s DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging) commitment. They openly encourage other businesses to adopt similar practices to help reduce systemic inequality.
This DCA member Case Study Conversation is a masterclass in D&I “change that works”. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from a leading example. Join us in our first lunch and learn webinar series of the year. DCA CEO Catherine Hunter will host a frank and compelling discussion with Steven James, Head of Sustainability & DEIB at Future Group.
You will discover:
- Why they designed, developed and implemented their cultural leave policy.
- How they communicated the change across the organisation.
- The uptake and benefits employees have experienced since its introduction.
Please note, registrations open approximately four weeks before the event. Until then, we suggest you add the time and date in your calendar as a placeholder. (event, date and time may change, so please always check back)
