New Research Coming Soon: Social Class Inclusion at Work

To be released October 2025

Diversity Council Australia (DCA) is developing new research exploring social class inclusion in the workplace, set for release in October 2025. This study will offer an evidence-based approach to help employers address class-based inclusion and exclusion at work, with practical recommendations grounded in both lived experience and the latest academic and industry research.

We’ve heard directly from workers across a range of social class backgrounds, who shared powerful stories about feeling included, or excluded, at work due to their class background. We also surveyed HR and D&I professionals on their workplace initiatives, organisational demographics, and more.

This new research builds on our landmark 2020 Class at Work report, which made a compelling case for why class matters in Australian workplaces and why employers should take action.

The following infographics provide early insights from the research and provide more details around understanding class at work, the case for class inclusion at work, and what leaders can do to create class inclusion.
