Pronouns

Sharing pronouns is a great way to foster inclusion and respect at work. There are several reasons to share pronouns in the workplace:

  • It helps avoid misgendering and helps colleagues or clients to get pronouns right. Our Out at Work: From Prejudice to Pride: report highlights how the use of correct pronouns is an important aspect of inclusion at work and people’s experiences of being out at work.
  • Many trans and non-binary people will share their pronouns, but the more cisgender people do it too, the more it normalises sharing pronouns and not assuming gender.
  • It signals respect, safety, and that you are an LGBTIQ+ ally.
